A Guide to Candle Care

A well-maintained candle not only enhances your experience but also ensures safety and longevity. Follow these expert tips to get the most out of your candles:

  • Trim the Wick: Always trim your wick to about 1/4 inch before lighting. A longer wick can cause excessive flickering, soot, and an uneven burn.

  • Avoid Tunneling: The first burn is crucial—allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface to prevent tunneling. This ensures your candle lasts longer and burns evenly.

  • Burn in Intervals: For best results, burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. This prevents overheating and extends the lifespan of the wax.

  • Keep It Clean: Ensure your candle is free from dust and debris by covering it when not in use. If soot appears on the glass, wipe it away with a dry cloth.

  • Use a Snuffer: Extinguish the flame with a snuffer rather than blowing it out to minimise smoke and maintain a clean burn.

  • Proper Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fragrance and prevent discolouration.
